About GolfLife

Discover the story behind GolfLife, our passion for the game, and what makes our community special. We're more than just a golf society; we're a group of friends dedicated to enjoying the sport, staying active, and fostering camaraderie.

Our Beginning

GolfLife was formed in May 2018 by a group of like-minded individuals who shared a passion for golf and a desire to play in a friendly, social, and active environment. Our inspiration was simple: to create a golf society that prioritised fun, social interaction, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We wanted a format with straightforward rules that allowed everyone to enjoy their game, regardless of skill level. We operate with a dedicated WhatsApp system to keep everyone informed about upcoming games and events, as well as to foster some light-hearted, clean golfing banter.

What Makes Us Unique

While many golf groups exist, GolfLife stands out due to its strong emphasis on community and well-being. We are a friendly bunch of guys who play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our core philosophy revolves around playing for fun, socialising, and crucially, keeping fit and active. We believe in playing games on a friendly basis, but with a healthy dose of competitive spirit – we play to win! Currently, our society has a maximum of 12 players, ensuring a close-knit and personal experience for everyone.

Beyond the Green

Our commitment to socialising and fitness extends beyond the 14 holes we play each session. We understand that golf isn't always possible due to weather. In such instances, we gather for coffee in the clubhouse to chat, catch up, and put the world to rights. This highlights the strong social bonds within GolfLife – it's a place to connect, share experiences, and build lasting friendships. Our committee, comprising an Editor, Treasurer, Match Secretary, and Entertainments Secretary, works diligently to ensure the smooth running and overall enjoyment of the society for all members.

"GolfLife offers the perfect blend of competitive golf and genuine friendship. It's fantastic for staying active and social."
